It underscored the value of physical activity in boosting mood and mental clarity while creating an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie.

The formal program was opened by OPPI President, Ms. Hisayo Nishihara, who welcomed the participants with an inspiring speech about the importance of prioritizing health, especially in today’s fast-paced corporate environment. “Your health is your greatest investment, and events like this remind us all to take time for self-care,” she emphasized.

The talk show segment was hosted by Dra. Aika Buenavista, a certified lifestyle medicine physician, skillfully guided the discussions. The expert panel featured Dr. Jonathan Cruz, a renowned gastroenterologist/hepatologist, and Dr. Sophia Guballa, a psychiatrist, who explored the intricate link between gut health and mental wellness.

Dr. Jonathan Cruz explained how the gut, often referred to as the “second brain,” influences mood and energy levels through the gut-brain axis. He provided actionable tips on maintaining a healthy gut, such as incorporating probiotics, fiber-rich foods, and staying hydrated.

Dr. Sophia Guballa added a mental health perspective, highlighting how gut imbalances can affect mood and stress levels. She encouraged employees to adopt small, sustainable habits to manage stress, such as mindfulness practices and balanced nutrition.

Participants actively engaged during the Q&A session, asking questions and sharing their own experiences.

The event concluded with closing remarks from the president of Pocari Sweat, Mr. Ken Saito who thanked the attendees for their enthusiastic participation and reiterated the importance of corporate wellness programs. “This event is a testament to the power of collaboration in creating meaningful impact.
